E-commerce requires 3x the warehouse space that retail does. Why?📦 Parcels vs Pallets: For retail, customers ship palettes to the store. For e-commerce, customers are shipping individual items. Parcels take a lot more room because they need to be individually packaged and shipped.🛒 Retail does leverage warehouses, but they also have operations taking place in the back of the store. For e-commerce, it's all happening within the warehouse.🛍 Returns! Back to the parcels point above, customers need to store, inspect and sort returned packages – the process demands space.Learn more interesting information about the industrial real estate industry from Prologis’ CEOon the Leading Voices in Real Estate Podcast with Matt Slepin: https://lnkd.in/eMCFC2pN

It's IMPACT Day! Each year on IMPACT Day, our employees put their talents to work to enrich the communities where they live and work. While the day is just beginning on the West Coast of the U.S. our teams in Europe and Asia are wrapping up their days of service. Here are some of the exciting projects our teams have worked on so far today:🔨 Prologis Amsterdam helped their community restore and rebuild gardens, walkways and fences. 💬 Prologis Poland spent their day volunteering with the elderly in their community. 🏠Prologis Hungary and Slovakia worked with Habitat for Humanity to clear out years of debris at the center of the Foundation for Equal Opportunities. 🍎 Prologis Orlando spent the day volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank, preparing meals for food-insecure residents of the Central Florida community.Follow #PLDIMPACT to watch the day continue to unfold!

You’ve heard the construction pipeline is shrinking… but by how much? It decreased by more than 50% year over year for Q1 as new deliveries fell from peak. What does this mean for you? The flood of new supply in 2023 has extended the window to lease, but this will be short as new supply is falling and logistics real estate exits the current mini-cycle. There is a lot more data where that came from! Redefine your competitive edge: read all the insights in this quarter’s Industrial Business Indicator. https://prolo.gs/3wBt6it

Wave hello to some of the beautiful animals that call Budapest home! As a permanent tribute to the fauna and flora of the local area, the sprinkler tank at Prologis Park Budapest-Sziget II has been painted by 8 muralists over 19 days — unveiled on #EarthDay. The 3,750 sqft #mural features 50 shades of color and is visible to visitors and travelers passing by. If you’re in the area, say hello to the lizard and the grey heron...with more animals coming soon! Thanks to Vertigo Murals for this beautiful depiction. Happy Earth Month!
