Jim Krampen is the co-founder of Seven Corners, Inc., which he founded in 1993 with Justin Tysdal. Their goal was the creation of an international travel insurance company focused on personalized customer service and high quality products. Under Jim’s leadership, the company, which began with one retail travel insurance product, has become a multinational, multifaceted organization. Today, Seven Corners provides numerous products and services to a variety of markets worldwide.
As a respected authority on international travel insurance with over 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, Jim offers extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of benefit design, underwriting, and distribution of insurance programs. He has directed the development of the company’s products and program management services by effectively partnering with insurance carriers and customers to design and implement customized retail insurance programs for various markets.
Jim has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and has served as a Board Member and Membership Chairperson for the United States Travel Insurance Association (UStiA).
Jim is married and has seven children. He enjoys building and racing motorcycles and cars, and his favorite travel destination is Bora Bora. Jim's travel tip:No time to iron? Hang your clothes in the bathroom when you shower in the morning, and the steam will release any wrinkles caused from being packed in your suitcase.
Co-founders Justin Tysdal and Jim Krampen started out working alone to reach their goal with one retail product. Now, still under Jim and Justin's leadership, the company has become an all-around, multifunctional organization of about 230 employees.
History. Seven Corners was known as Fort Buffalo from the American Civil War until the 1950s. The area took its name from a fortification constructed in October 1862 by men of the 21st New York Infantry. Fort Buffalo stood on the southern side of the Leesburg Pike, at its current intersection with Sleepy Hollow Road.
